Now that we already know what we're gonna do in our project we will now present our project in the near finals. The Evil Twin Attack. We will be using Linux BackTrack R3 5 OS. What we're gonna do is to setup a web server then an Access Point (AP), then launch test for security. After launching it, we're going to collect the used IDs then after that we're gonna compare results

COMSEC2 Learning Log #3

I was absent on that day because of SoCIT Fest. Before Wednesday, we organized almost all of the events in the school and we enjoyed it. At the end of the day, nalate na akong umuwi kasi naglinis pa kami and documentary pa ako so puro pictures ang kelangan nila like complete cover of all the events and happenings in the organization. I asked my classmate what did they do to the COMSEC2 class and he said, they watched a movie to answer an activity. I was a little sad because I was absent. I still won't give up. hehe

COMSEC2 Learning Log #2

What I have learned so far these past few weeks was about the Legal Investigation and Computer Forensics. The process on how the forensics work on computers, copyright, trademark, patent, and the Computer Forensics Methodology. I guess that this would be a great benefit for our research project because it involves a little bit of forensics and investigation.

First day of classes was good, though. 4 hours of classes is way too long maybe for me but I'll get used to it. So now, I go to school everyday like Monday to Friday unlike last term that there's no class on Wednesday. I'll just have to push myself to study harder and pursue more for my dreams. 😅

In this subject, it is really pure theoretical and we have to understand the law of the government and the terms of cyber security. We studied different kinds of law even though the law is a little bit isn't related to our subject, we would still study them in order for us to understand how the government works in several ways, especially when it comes to law enforcement. Our drone research is not done yet so we have to finish it before the deadline ends.

COMSEC1 Learning Log #3

What I have learned this past few weeks about Computer Security was about our recent activity, the Google Hacking which is a very helpful information from Sir Justin. In this activity, we could make our searching in Google more efficient and effective in such a way that you would enter such syntax that would satisfy the search engine itself. Our Rootkit research is now completed and approved, we can now move on to our defense around next week or next two weeks. Good luck to us!

INFOSEC Learning Log #2

Few days ago, we did an exercise about the Wireshark and how to use it. It was quite fun because it was like you have to trace the packets that causes the traffic to slow and trace where for example: You entered a password in a single website and you can find it in the Wireshark, it was cool! After that, we did our Cybrary Certification Exam for us to be certified and have plus points for us. The certification that I took is about Security Operations in Cybrary. At first attempt, I took it at around 30 minutes but and I failed but I can still attempt one last time so I studied the videos again and after finishing my second attempt, I passed!

This past two weeks, we did our case study that was assigned to us and submitted our research outline. After that, we also did some research about our topic, Rootkits. It was quite hard to think about the topic but we can handle it.

I also learned so many things in Information Security because of Sir Justin Pineda, I can now understand how DoS or DDoS attacks other servers like the one we were studying in our first Exercise, I also learned about the CIA Triad, the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. The differences of the Type Acess Controls and the Types of Aunthentication. The last but not the least that how many devices that you have to plant or connect in your network that could prevent attacks or viruses, the attacks would still work because it's still vulnerable.

COMSEC Learning Log #1

I learned so many things about these past meetings in the subject, Computer Security. The differences between the Virus, Malware, and the Worm.  The topologies which we learned the basics in DATACOM but my knowledge here just improved and knew more about their advantages and disadvantages. The RFC which is the protocols that are defined and how the flags were used in a following protocol.

1. Lurenne Tangi - Party

• What Lurenne said in his blog post, "8 - Party", was true. That frosh night was one of our best night ever. He also said the best part was the last part of the party was the rave part and I agree to him because we were so wild there and it's we were not in ourselves (If you get it haha!)

2. Miguel Matawran - Hobby

• Well, mostly, this is our best hobby that we have in our life. We really like to play basketball and this is our entertainment when we are bored. Unfortunately, Mico is injured, forever, I think. He said something that he will not play aggressively but still he can.

3. Gabriel Estabillo - Bayan o Sarili?

• I choose for bayan! Because I am proud to serve my country for my citizenship as a Filipino and being a Filipino for me is one of my happiest experience. Because a Filipinos don't ever back down.

4. Kenard Pascua - People still campaign against smoking for some reason

• I absolutely agree to Kenard because it's obviously dangerous and not healthy to smoke cigarette but they still campaign for not smoking? I mean, we are already aware that smoking is not good for us. He said, "Convincing someone to stop smoking is like screaming at a brick wall." I 99.9% agree to this statement. 

5. Louis Llanillo - Air Jordan is The Best Shoes

• Hmm... Not really the best of the best shoes but these shoes are one of the best. There are several shoes that are also great like Reebok, Mizuno, Adidas, Under Armour, and especially Nike. For me, Nike is my best shoes that I wore for all my life. I think Louis is telling that Jordan is the best shoes because it is both suited for sports and style. :D

6. Jimmy Famador - World Peace

• I also hope that there are already peace happening in this world. Here in APC, I already noticed something happening in our block, but I still need to think positive so that I will not start a new problem or a new issue.

7. Argel Janfred Cornel - There's No Place I'd Rather Be

• We are almost the same when we are travelling around the world. We also want the place to be extraordinary so that we would really entertain ourselves and see new things to our life. We are also curious because these places that he's talking about are places that we saw the images in the internet, Facebook, magazines, and many more. 

8. Leonardo Salvador - Challenges

• Take this as a challenge, not a complaint. That's what I like when someone is thinking positive in life. These challenges are only obstacles that we can solve it for ourselves.

9. Wesley Silvestre - Gadgets

• I agree to his blog post, because this is also the main problem of today's generation. Kids today can't concentrate in their academics because they are distracted when it comes to gadgets. I hope that theses kids can still change and focus to their studies so that in the future they'll meet their own goals.

10. Mary Comia - Mother's Love

• Our mothers are the very best woman that came into our life. She is everything. We can love her unconditionally and unlimited, like 24 hours and 7 days. I was really touched about Mary's post, because she stated all about their experiences.

11. Zian Vertudes - Food Wins!

• Foods are awesome. Yes, because foods can satisfy our needs. I agree to her post, because foods are definitely better than in a relationship. Foods are always there for us even though we are not there for them. They always take care of our health.

12. Buena Talosig - Thank you!

• Yep, these are two magical words that can appreciate what makes us happy or what makes us satisfied. Buena mentioned different languages of saying Thank You, but he never mentioned the Arabic word of Thank You huhu. I'm sad. Joke haha.

13. Krisper Bariuan - Best Friends Forever

• I have a best friend also but we're not quite communicating to each other because of the assignments and homework that are doing for us. We became busy because we are now in college and we will not let these fall our grades down 'again'. But still, he still my best-est friend! :D

• I didn't know that your name came from there but your post was fun and interesting. I also didn't know that you are that kind of person. She's silent though. I am happy for your because you have a strong faith in God. :)

15. Pangilinan Patricia - High School

• Well, I also miss my high school but it's not that great when I became 4th year because that time I didn't seriously studied the lessons and did not do my assignments properly. I still miss my high school though because of my friends, they are really the ones who are always there for me in times problems. I agree, high school is one of my best years in life.

15 - Success

"Daydreams"

I daydream a lot. In classroom I always daydream when I get bored of the subject and when I am not

in the mood to study, I admit. Daydreaming is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations coming in
your mind during awake. Well, it was creepy because one time I experienced that I was daydreaming at the same time I was doing it, simultaneously. Mostly, my daydream is getting a successful job and a happy family with a big house (But not the mansion). I'm not that kind of guy that is hypocritical
and a pretender. I actually, do it for myself to meet my achievements and ambitions.

My daydream is all about being success in life. Sometimes, I noticed that when I daydream, I dream about my kids having fun on the backyard grass and my wife (or whoever she is that will be my forever) is cooking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I see her sometimes smiling at me and it melts me out of my body <3. I see for myself that I am driving to my work and doing a lot of paper works and tasks. I sometimes see myself that I am drinking beer to relieve my stress but not smoking. When I drive home, I always see my kids stress of the homework yet happy because we are complete again and happy. But then I realized, where are my parents and my siblings living? And I am so curious because they are sometimes not appearing in my daydream, but I know that they will always here in my heart because I really love them and they are my family. Family first. Of course I love my own family also, because we worked hard for it and made it successful. The best part is we gather in our family reunion and we especially the siblings, My first brother, my second brother, my sister, and then me are having fun and talking about how things are going through our lives. Once, here in the real world, we talked about what we will look like when we already have our own family. When we talked about that, I nearly cried, but I just took tears from my eyes and I can't help it haha! So that's why, I don't want to separate with my siblings because I love and I trust them so much. We had so much memories for us.We are so close to each other until now :D.

Well, yeah, that's what comes to my mind when I daydream. I hope that I will meet this daydream of mine for my future because this daydream, inspires me. Sometimes, I'm scared because I think it's nearly coming and it makes my heart sad because we will separate in the future but I don't want to think of it because it will just interrupt my present but it will be my motivation to meet my success in life. I love my family. I love the Urquia clan. >:)

"Describe a day at the mall"

Well, yeah, a day at the mall... It's not too good and not too bad to me, it's alright. Going to the mall is kinda okay to me because when you enter and walk inside with a long hallway and some creepy looking saleslady/man is looking at me. I'm not scared but looking someone at me kinda creeps me out and I don't know why haha. We go to the mall every Sunday or Saturday so that our mom can go buy groceries and foods for us. We don't have classes during weekends that's why we are able to go there.

Before we go to SM Bacoor or SM Rosario, which is located in Cavite and it is our nearest mall that we can go to buy goodies, either me or our brother will drive our car and go there. Sometimes when we are picking who will drive for our destination, we play a little game like Rock, Paper, Scissors haha!
Then who will lose will drive the car or will pick who will drive. We were really serious yet humorous when it comes to cars. We like cars, bleh. When we arrive to the mall, we eat there first so that if we want to do something we will not starve anymore and find some place to eat. We usually like to eat at Classic Savory because the food there are classy, stated in the name of the restaurant (That's why :)). After we eat our lunch, we will now go to our place that we want. Our mom will go to the groceries with our sister and me and our brother will go to our happy place in the mall, Tom's World or Timezone. There is only one thing that we like to play in these arcade places, the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3dx+ or 5. If you could see an arcade that has a six-gear speed built in it, like in a car, that's the one that we are playing. It has a card for you to be able to continue your progress, it is like your own profile in a card. When we have nothing to do in the mall, we will escort our mom and our sister to buy some groceries and help them to buy wisely. Sometimes, when we were already bored, we just standby by the food court and eat some snacks then we will escort our mom. After we buy groceries, me or my brother will drive to home. It is usually my brother because in Bacoor, Cavite, there's too many intersections and highways so some of them are not yet allowing me to drive there but recently, I drove from Bacoor to our home and it's safe and sound. So that's my day at the mall. Not so good and not so bad. :>

13 - Motivations

"Quotes that changed your life"

I was very lazy when it comes to academics and reading texts that may not interest me. When I was a little kid, I used to study hard and do homework with my mom and I was so interested and enjoyed. Actually, I don't like going to school when I was a kid because I was scared to the teachers and scared because there are a lot of pupils that I will meet in the classroom. Because when I hear the word "teacher", I feel uncomfortable and I become awkward and tensed. I don't know why but maybe because when they are getting mad to the student, I get nervous and feel terrified. Going back, I don't really excel in academics but I sometimes get high grades when I feel that it is easy. When I feel that that certain subject is very hard, especially Math, I easily give up and let go of it. Well, now, I'm not that kind of person anymore because of these quotes, not only quotes but also my friends and family who motivated me to bring my standards to the top.

There are so many quotes that motivated me so much and pushed me to work hard for the progression of my life. This quote of Sam Levenson, "Don't watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going.". Other people are abusing some motivational quotes like"Mistakes are proof that you are trying.", sometimes they do mistakes too much because they think that they will get better next time, next time, next time, and then there you go, you're still stuck in the same situation. I'm not saying that I'm perfect and you guys only do this, I also did this to myself when I was in high school. I always expect that I will have a good grades but then, unexpected. Anyway, another quote that I like is "You have to fight through the bad days in order to earn the best days.". This quote reminds me when I was in Jeddah, K.S.A. I have been through a lot of bad and dark times there because of the people living there. I like it there because the place is like a different place that you won't get bored of it. What am I doing right now in my life is - I am really fighting for myself through the bad days so that I can accomplish my specified work and continue the progress."When you feel like giving up, think about why you started.". This quote really inspires me because why not right? I started this and then now I am going to quit because I'm not anymore enjoying it? That's not how it works. If you want to quit, think about why you started this. Patient, patient is one of the most important personality of being human. I like to be an optimistic and a positive person. I don't like anymore to be a negative or a person who likes to get in an argument anymore. I want to live in peace.

That is why I changed. I changed for the best to recover my bad past memories and make it a new good memories that will stay in me, forever. I realized that I have a very bad past memories that is really not beneficial to my life and I was so frustrated to myself. I also asked myself that, "Why did I do this and why did I did that?" I was really regretting. Now, I can strive harder and do my best to achieve my goals with all my hard work and strength to progress and increase my standards, higher.
